Every year, L.A. County loses over 100 billion gallons of water. What if there was a way to catch that water, clean it, and reuse it? This is Safe Clean Water L.A.’s mission. An umbrella has been used for centuries to block water. However, if an umbrella is turned on its head, it does the opposite; it collects. This notion is what inspired SCWLA’s identity. Using the upside-down umbrella as a focus, the handle was sculpted into a faucet to illustrate the organization’s goal of reclaimable resources.
